Cleaning up with sustainable technology

Starting his first business when he was 12 years old, Zach Hamilton has a long history in entrepreneurial activities. His first venture, a landscaping company, sold in 2008 and is still in operation today.

Having been bit by the entrepreneurial bug, Hamilton applied for and received a $2,000 grant during his freshman year to explore the creation of DevilWash, an environmentally friendly pressure cleaning company. Later that year he was awarded $18,000 from the Edson Student Entrepreneur Initiative for DevilWash. Over the next year the seedling venture grew more successful, landing larger and larger contracts. In 2010 Hamilton applied for the Edson grant again and was awarded $15,000 to further grow DevilWash into an established company. By fall 2010, DevilWash had grown to 3 part-time employees with additional growth anticipated.
