THE ENORMOUS power of entrepreneurial thought and action underlies everything Babson College does.

Inside their undergraduate classrooms, entrepreneurship provides a foundation for integrating academic disciplines. Faculty members from all business disciplines teach the business concepts, principles, frameworks, and tools within the context of entrepreneurial thought and action. This approach offers an increased emphasis on field-based learning, incorporates the subjects and skills needed for success in a dynamic world, and provides flexibility to support individual learning needs.

While Babson’s academic programs are designed to cultivate a broad entrepreneurial skill set, they also provide highly customized paths in specific areas, including corporate entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial finance, family enterprising, new venture creation, social entrepreneurship, sustainable growth, technology entrepreneurship, and women’s leadership.  With the largest faculty dedicated to entrepreneurship, Babson is able to provide more courses and support to our students than any other institution.

All first-year undergraduate students jump into entrepreneurial thought and action with Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship (FME), a required practicum in new venture creation. With funding provided by the College, student teams plan and develop a for-profit venture, then launch manage and liquidate it, selecting a local social service agency to receive its profits.

Entrepreneurship isn’t just an academic discipline at Babson.  It’s a way of life. Babson’s cocurricular activities and our residential living programs allow students to live entrepreneurially.  Students at Babson create new and impactful organizations every year that provide hands-on opportunities to complement and expand on what they learn in the classroom.

There is no cost to participate in the program but all student businesses are invited to contribute a percentage of their equity position to Babson through the Founder’s Fund. This Fund was created by alumni as a "venture capital fund" used to support Babson's mission of providing entrepreneurial education.
